I interned at Grafik Magazine in the summer of 2011, helping to look after their blog, contributing (in a small way) to the magazine, and also had a chance to help out with the design of the magazine.

The magazine is designed by Michael Bojkowski of ok interrupt. Michael created a pattern to use for a set of backgrounds on certain pages for each issue, and for issue G192 he invited me to create one, using the letter G from the typefaces used within the magazine.

The pattern I created was used throughout the issue, as well as on the website and twitter page.

I was also able to provide design assistance to Michael, concerning proofing, artworking and design of internal adverts. It was great to get an insight into the design and production of a commercial magazine, as well as seeing how the editorial content comes to life in print.
